Snap(shot) Judgements are posts that will appear with no real regularity. It’s primarily a way for us to get thoughts and photos up as soon as possible, especially when we have no plan to write a feature-length column on the subject. Here, Gary returns to the site where he once spent a glorious day sitting at the bar and just drinking – Russian River in Santa Rosa, CA.
During my first trip out to the Bay Area in April 2008, JP and I spent a long Sunday afternoon at Santa Rosa’s Russian River Brewing Company. Actually, we got there at 11am and didn’t leave until 6pm so maybe a long late morning and afternoon then. We were there so long that our awesome bartender Jeff put down “Beer Vacation” as the name on our tab – there couldn’t be a more apt name. When we were putting this 30th birthday trip together, we knew we’d have to go back there and indoctrinate Aaron and Jeremy in the ways of lazy drinking at Russian River. We didn’t quite spend seven hours there this time (more like four and a half) but we certainly drank and ate our fair share. Needless to say, we had a damned good time.
